Capitol Heights resident Tanare Williams, 24, is behind bars following an investigation into the murder of a 31-year-old man in the Central District on Thursday, Jan. 4, authorities announced on Thursday.
Shortly after midnight on the morning of the shooting, officers on patrol were flagged down by a passerby and directed to the unit block of North Eutaw Street, where there was a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was rushed to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The investigation led members of the Baltimore Police Department to identify Williams as a suspect, and he was arrested this week in Greenbelt.
He was apprehended without incident and taken to the Central Booking Intake Facility in Baltimore, where he was charged with first-degree murder.
No information about his initial court appearance has been released by the police.
